Net neutrality, photobomb, meme and abbreviations like WTF and NSFW are part of a recent 1,700 word expansion to the Merriam-Webster dictionary.
The words come from the digital world (emoji, clickbait), popular slang and foodie culture (sriracha, macaron and lambrusco). Editors also enhanced another 200 frequently looked up entries.
"Whatever they do or are, all of them are members of this vibrant, expanding language we share," Emily Brewster, associate editor at Merriam-Webster, wrote May 26. "And now they're part of Merriam-Webster Unabridged too."
