It's hard to decide whether you should feel bad or laugh.
Someone caught Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-D.C.) on video, trying hard as she might to park her car between the Longworth and Cannon House Office buildings on Wednesday.
The parking problem appeared when Holmes Norton pulled her car straight forward into a spot that had slanted lines.
She backs up, pulls in again, backs up again, turns, pulls in again, to no avail.
Her aide, seeing her troubles, comes out to help her by walking around the car and trying to point her in the right direction, but eventually the crooked car is just left as is.
The
reports that she did hit one of the cars parked next to her, but Holmes Norton's communications director, Benjamin Fritsch, stated there was no damage done.
"The Congresswoman heard back from the owner of the only car she was close enough to damage,” he commented, “the owner reported no damages.”
That, of course, did not spare the delegate from the wrath of internet teasing.
