Two women are accused of manufacturing drugs in the most unlikely of places.
According to the Huffington Post, police arrested Tiffany Burton, 26, and Judith Hemken, 53, near Hillsboro, Illinois, after the women were spotted engaged in suspicious activity at a nearby church.
A member of the Waveland Hillsboro Presbyterian Church called police after noticing two women at the church at a time when it should have been empty. One woman was located just outside the church, while the other woman was reportedly in the church’s basement operating a meth lab.
After being spotted the two women fled in a car but were stopped by police a short while later.
A small fire sparked by the hidden meth lab was quickly put out by law enforcement. No damages or injuries were reported.
The Journal-News reports that because the meth lab was in a church, the women could face stiffer sentences, anywhere from nine to 40 years in prison.
