Woman surprised by snake slithering behind touchscreen at gas station pump

A Kansas woman got more than a tankful of unleaded fuel after she saw a snake slither across a gas station touchscreen.

When Holly Malkames was filling up and saw the snake inside the screen, she started taking video, then showed it to the clerks inside the convenience store, KCTV reported.

"I was so afraid it was going to be coming back down that side of the pump," Malkames told KCTV.

A clerk safely removed the garter snake, which looked significantly smaller outside the glass.

"I suppose the Plexiglas magnified it," Malkames told KCTV.
