UPDATE: A Virginia woman has provided a generous reward to the person who returned the heirloom quilt she mistakenly donated.
Rachel Bowen posted on Facebook that she had raised $4,800 through a GoFundMe fundraiser for Sandra Knight, the woman who returned the quilt, and presented her with the check Monday. The money will help Knight, a home health care worker, purchase a new car. Bowen also gave Knight a quilt to replace the one she had purchased at Goodwill.

A Virginia woman has a piece of her family history back. Early last month, Bowen's heirloom quilt was mistakenly donated by her son to Goodwill. When she got in touch with the charity, they gave her a list of stores where it could have been sent, WSET reported.
More than a month later, a woman who saw a flyer at a Goodwill told workers at the store that she had the missing quilt and asked them to get in touch with Bowen.
Tuesday, Bowen and the unnamed woman met to get the blanket back to its original owner, WSET reported.
Bowen had offered a $500 reward for its return. The woman told Bowen that she had just put $500 into her car to keep it running. Now Bowen is hoping that since their paths have crossed thanks to the will of God, that she can help raise money for the woman to get a reliable car.
The quilt was made by Bowen's grandmother, who wasn't able to finish it before she died. It was completed by Bowen's mother before she passed away, WSET reported.
