A woman in California is expected to survive after she fell off a bridge while attempting to take a selfie, police said.

Authorities said the woman fell approximately 60 feet. According to the Placer County Sheriff's Office, the woman was with a group of friends who were walking on the girders underneath the Foresthill Bridge, when she attempted to take a selfie and fell. The sheriff's office said walking on the girders is a violation of the law, and urged people to cross the bridge via the designated pathways.

The woman, who was not identified by authorities, was airlifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. Authorities did not say if the woman would face charges.
