Las Vegas police arrested a woman they said was impersonating a Child Protective Services worker and allegedly trying to abduct a 3-week-old baby from a couple she had met on social media.
The woman, identified as Joanna Boyd, 39, called police Monday just after noon and requested emergency assistance in picking up a baby at a location in the city, according to KTNV-TV.
Police said she identified herself as a CPS worker and even provided paperwork that included a court order, but according to KTNV, officers were suspicious of the woman and later discovered she was not a family services worker and the paperwork was indeed false.

It turns out the parents had never met Boyd, but had talked with her on social media about baby clothes. Police said she learned about the family and their baby through their social media accounts, the TV station reported.
Boyd was arrested and is facing a number of charges, including attempted kidnapping, forgery and impersonating a public officer.
