A Georgia teacher with an impressive teaching career is now facing prison time after being accused of having sex with a student.

Police charged Elizabeth Scroggs with felony sexual assault by a person with supervisory or disciplinary authority.  She was charged because of an alleged sexual relationship with an 18-year-old male student, The DaltonDailyCitizen reported .

Scroggs is being held at the county jail without bond.

Despite the teen reportedly consenting to the relationship, Capt. Rick Swiney told The DaltonDailyCitizen that someone with supervisory or disciplinary powers over another cannot have a relationship with person he or she is in charge of.  Swiney used the example of a probation officer with an offender or a police officer with an inmate.
