"Wildly provocative" post birth selfie causing grief for new mother

Eriksen not backing down

The “selfie” taken just four days after Caroline Berg Eriksen had a baby is causing uproar around the world.

It shows the new mother in some pretty skimpy underwear looking nothing like she recently gave birth.

Eriksen is the wife of a Norwegian soccer player and it’s clear she takes fitness seriously.

But blogger Suzanna Aabel has a different opinion saying she doubts Eriksen and her daughter Nelia "belonged to the same species."

Aabel went on. "In my eyes, this picture is wildly provocative, not just because I'm the chubby girl who's envious of her petite figure, but because I began to despise my own body when I was about twelve."

The Daily Mail reports others are upset because they think Eriksen put more emphasis on her figure than she did her babys health. Others are worried she'll put too much pressure on mother's to lose weight too quickly after giving birth.

Caroline used her Facebook page to shoot right back.

"I let out the picture because I'm proud of myself and my body for something as tough as a pregnancy/birth, and I think all mothers, regardless of the body shall be."

Doctor Gro Nylander is the head of the women's clinic at Norway's National Hospital, he defended Caroline saying.

"I don't think we should bully The Footballer's Wife," he told The Aftenposgten. Life is unfair, some people have flat stomachs while others have pouts."

Amen brother, Amen.
