Three lanes of westbound Interstate 90 in Seattle were blocked after a wild end of a police chase that was caught on camera.

The incident, in which a trooper used a PIT maneuver twice, was recorded by a Department of Transportation camera and showed the truck spinning around both times it was hit Monday morning.

Trooper Chris Webb said the incident began when a trooper tried to stop the pickup for speeding and unsafe lane travel on Interstate 405 near I-90. The driver then exited to west Lake Sammamish before heading west on I-90.

The first maneuver was executed at 20 mph at Lake Sammamish but failed to stop the truck.  The second maneuver occurred at 50 mph east of Eastgate and was successful.  Troopers had to pull the driver out of the truck to take him into custody.

Webb said two patrol cars were damaged.

The highest speed the chase reached was 73 mph.

Police said the driver, a man in his 40s, was believed to be under the influence of narcotics and was throwing items out the window during the pursuit.

KIRO 7 reporter Rob Munoz saw two large jars of marijuana inside the truck.

Traffic was backed up at least 6 miles while troopers investigated.
