WATCH: Simone Biles ties medal record with vault win at world gymnastics championships

Gymnast Simone Biles has vaulted into the history books again with her latest win at the 2019 world championships in Germany.

According to The Associated Press, the 22-year-old phenom successfully performed a Cheng and an Amanar on Saturday to win gold on vault, finishing with a 15.399 score. With that victory, Biles claimed the 23rd world championships medal of her career, tying Belarusian gymnast Vitaly Scherbo's record.

Fellow American Jade Carey finished second with a score of 14.883, while Britain's Ellie Downie posted a 14.816 score to win bronze, Team USA's official website said.

Biles could surpass Scherbo's medal record Sunday when she competes in the floor and balance beam finals, the AP reported.
