Watch Mercury cross the face of the sun in rare sojourn

Tiny Mercury crossed the sun Monday – a rare journey that was visible for 7.5 hours.

It’s the first time it’s made this trip in more than a decade and it won’t happen again until 2019. Mercury transits occur only 13 times per century, according to NASA.
