"Fox and Friends" co-host Pete Hegseth and drummer Jeff Prosperie are both breathing a big sigh of relief after dodging a potentially dangerous ax-ident, Rare reports.
Hegseth was on set at the time he tossed an ax, which apparently sailed well above its target, striking Prosperie of the West Point Hellcats marching band on the arm.
Prosperie posted video of the incident and some commentary on Facebook.

Business Insider noted that Prosperie had a follow-up response on Facebook and revealed that he was told there would be no ax throwing. He believes Hegseth went "rogue."
“My leadership told me they were told there would be no ax throwing; I think the anchor person went rogue and decided to throw it,” Prosperie said. “[Hegseth had] only thrown it once before in practice for an upcoming segment and they told him to throw it with more force.”
“When shooting or throwing, always know what is behind your target,” Prosperie continued. “Basic safety rule.”
