Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are searching for a man who ditched his car Wednesday afternoon in west Charlotte and jumped onto a moving train trying to escape officers.

The entire incident was caught on camera.

WSOC-TV's news helicopter began filming the police chase on I-85, where a black Honda was seen weaving in and out of traffic on the freeway Wednesday.

As the chase continued, the driver eventually drove off the Interstate, through a parking lot, then ditched the car in favor of a train.

He was caught on camera running from his car toward the train tracks and jumping onto a moving train, trying to make an escape.

The fleeing man eventually jumped off the train and ran into nearby woods along the track.

Police were spotted searching the area. Officers took two people into custody related to the car chase, and were still searching for a third.
