If you were dreaming of a white Christmas, you weren't alone — ski resorts were too.
Warm winters in the past have been bad for ski resorts, but this winter is causing some resorts east of Colorado to take particularly hard financial hits. (Video via WJW-TV)
While some ski resorts are maintaining their summer activities like golf to get by, one Ontario ski resort is simply asking for donations.
And no, these ski destinations can't just make snow. Making snow tends to work better when it's 28 degrees or colder; this winter, temperatures are reaching toward 50 and 60. (Video via WNEP)
Most of the resorts are used to several feet of base at this point in the season, but the El Nino weather makes it uncertain if cold weather will be coming to the slopes any time soon.
