Sept 20, 2015

A Virginia town unveiled a permanent memorial honoring two journalists killed on air.

Hundreds gathered at Bridgewater Plaza for a day of remembrance Saturday afternoon.

Guests shared stories, and watched as the memorial was unveiled in honor of Alison Parker and Adam Ward.

“By tragedy we can pull together and be stronger,” said Alice Swain, general manager of Virginia Dare Cruises.

The surviving shooting victim, Vicki Gardner, was also there.

She delivered a message of hope for a brighter tomorrow.
