A police officer in Victoria, Texas, is under investigation after a dash cam shows him tackling and using a Taser on a 76-year-old man.
The video shows Nathanial Robinson arresting Pete Vasquez — Vasquez was stopped for an expired inspection sticker. After a few moments, according to KPRC in Houston, Robinson is shown throwing Vasquez onto the hood of his police car, pulling him to the ground and then using a Taser on him.
"He just acted like a pit bull, and that was it," Vasquez told the Victoria Advocate. "For a while, I thought he was going to pull his gun and shoot me."
The town’s chief of police, J.J. Craig, has personally apologized to Vasquez for the incident.
"Public trust is extremely important to us," Craig told the Advocate. "Sometimes that means you have to take a real hard look at some of the actions that occur within the department."
Robinson was placed on administrative duty while the investigation continues, the Advocate reported.
