The viewing audience may not be record-breaking, but Sen. Tim Kaine (D, Va.) and Indiana Gov. Mike Pence faced-off in Virginia Tuesday night during the only vice presidential debate to be held this election year.

The two debated week and a day after their running mates – Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump – took part in the first 2016 presidential debate, one that was watched by more than 80 million viewers.

Both men have extensive experience in government. Kaine is the former governor of Virginia and Pence served six terms as a congressman from Indiana before being elected governor.
