Patch's owner, Tim Paulsen had taken the dog to a retirement home to help Alzheimer's patients.

Paulsen told KSBY that the driver also shoved him, but the video shows that Paulsen appears to have his fist clenched.  He said his thumb was out and he didn't think he was threatening the driver.

The driver told Paulsen that he had been attacked before and that he hates dogs.

UPS told KSBY that the company trains drivers to be cautious when they are confronted by dogs and to protect themselves if threatened. The company said it does not condone the driver's actions and that disciplinary action was taken. Company officials also apologized to Paulsen.
