According to news reports, United Airlines flight 998 was met by CDC officials in Newark after a passenger on board began vomiting and was showing flu-like symptoms.
The flight originated in Brussels. Two passengers, reportedy a father and daughter, were removed from the flight after it landed in Newark. CDC personnel in Hazmat gear removed the passengers. The two are believed to be from Liberia, but that has not been confirmed.
All other passengers were allowed to exit the plane after the sick passenger was determined not to be contagious.
According to one local news source, an official stated that the passenger does not appear to have Ebola.
Further testing is needed to deterine the health status of the sick passenger.
