An Uber driver, who a customer accused of making unwanted sexual advances, has been charged, Ross Township police said.

Authorities identified the driver as Jehad Abdula Makhoul, 46, of Whitehall. He was charged via summons with one count of indecent assault, a second-degree misdemeanor, and one count of harassment, a summary offense.

According to investigators, the victim called 911 shortly before 9 p.m. Nov. 22 after the driver dropped her off at her destination, the Barrel Junction Bar on Route 8 in Shaler.

The woman told police that the indecent contact occurred when the driver stopped mid-ride in Ross Township.

She said she was able to push him away and he dropped her off at the bar, where she called police.

Ross Township police said Uber, as well as the Makhoul, were cooperative during their investigation.
