Entertainer Tyler Perry has offered to pay for the funeral for twin girls who died inside a hot car in Carrollton, Georgia, last week.

Police say Asa North was drunk when he left his 15-month-old daughters, Ariel and Alaynah, inside his car on Aug. 4. Officers were called to the apartment complex around 6:30 p.m. and say they found neighbors trying to cool the girls down in the pool with ice packs.

North is charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter and reckless conduct.

"I was with them every day and the one day I left ... I just want to tell them I’m sorry," the twins’ mother, Breal Ellis, told WSB Monday. "They didn't deserve to die like that or to die, period, but I know they're in heaven."

In her interview, Ellis said she was having trouble getting the money together to bury her daughters. She said she had created a GoFundMe page and asked the public for help.

After seeing her plea, Perry reached out to Huddleston and offered to cover the funeral expenses.
