A shooting in the middle of the campus of the University of California, Los Angeles has put the city on tactical alert and the entire campus on lockdown.

UCLA's student-run newspaper tweeted about the shooting around 10 a.m. PDT.

The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed two victims dead, according to KTLA.

Twitter, in addition to reacting to the news and expressing concern for classmates and colleagues, established the hashtag #prayforUCLA.
