In what could be one of the biggest braggadocio moments for Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, the candidate claims to have such ardent support that he could shoot someone and not slip in the polls.

At least that is what he told supporters during a rally in Sioux Center, Iowa on Saturday.

“I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn't lose any voters," Trump said. “It’s like, incredible.”

Trump declined to clarify the comments when asked about them after the event, according to CNN.

Trump has lead in most polls for months. He holds a 40.6 percent share in a Reuters-Ipsos tracking poll that was released Friday.
