President Donald Trump was criticized for appearing to condemn both the white nationalists and those who were protesting them Saturday.

In a news briefing Tuesday, he attempted to clean up his earlier remarks, but mostly succeeded in reigniting backlash:

"I think there's blame on both sides. And I have no doubt about it."
