A truck struck protesters in Flint, Michigan, early Tuesday, Michigan Radio is reporting.

Nine people were hurt when the pickup drove into the protesters, who are advocating for a $15 minimum wage, WEYI reported. The injured were treated at a nearby hospital for wounds that don't appear to be life-threatening, authorities said.

Police said the collision appeared to be an accident.

About 100 people were at the protest, authorities said.

Michigan State Police are doing an accident reconstruction WEYI reported.

The truck’s driver is cooperating with police, but is not in custody.

Witnesses said that people were crossing the street when the crash happened, according to the television station.
