Drivers could be stuck on a North Carolina interstate for hours after a semitrailer loaded with groceries overturned, according to the North Carolina Department of Transportation.
WSOC reported the North Carolina State Highway Patrol troopers said the truck overturned Sunday around 3 a.m. after swerving to avoid a disabled vehicle on Interstate 85.
Crews have been forced to set up a portable toilet for drivers.
The highway is expected to be closed until 11 a.m. as crews work to unload the truck before moving it out of the roadway.
Troopers said one person was taken to a hospital, but the extent of their injuries is unclear at this point.
