"I'm really glad that everyone came out here because he’s probably sitting in there with a really big smile on his face, happy that everyone came out here," a classmate said, smiling.
Walmart got into the act, donating gifts to the family while friends built a "winter wonderland" in a park across the street.
From the hospital bed in Devin’s window he can see a giant "Merry Christmas Devin" sign and the big tree neighbors decorated.
The Port Clinton News Herald says Devin watched as hundreds of people dressed in green and red came together in the street singing Christmas carols and launching balloons.
Even Devin’s trip home from the hospital was spectacular. Named "Operation Bright and Loud," Devin was escorted by over 100 vehicles including police, fire, friends, classmates, and neighbors.
Toledo Mayor Leone summed it up like this. "Personally, I believe in God and I pray that he's watching out for him. I know he is."
