We're not talking about the dress but rather a cake.

YouTube user CharlotteSummers posted a video of a color-changing cake icing technique in which one cake's frosting changes colors when viewed at different angles.

It's not an illusion.

The key?

Airbrushing ridges of the cake frosting at a specific angle to your liking then applying other colors at the ridges on the opposite side.
