1. Robin Williams' wife speaks: Susan Williams, the widow of comedian Robin Williams, said her husband suffered from a devastating disease called Lewy body dementia at the time he took his life in 2014. In an interview Tuesday, she said Williams had for some months been showing the effects of the disease which attacks the brain and causes problems with mood, behavior and body movement. The disease was only discovered during Williams' autopsy. Williams, she said, had suffered hallucinations and cognitive impairment because of the disorder which, the National Institute of Health reports, is fairly common. Williams was also diagnosed with Parkinson's disease a few months before his death.
2. No legalized pot in Ohio: Ohio voters rejected a proposal on Tuesday's ballot that would have legalized marijuana use in the state. The measure would have created a constitutional amendment that allowed adults to use, grow or purchase certain amounts of marijuana for medical or recreational use. Those in favor of the amendment spent some $12 million on ads urging its passage.
3. Lara Spencer's Instagram: "Good Morning America" co-host Lara Spencer is hearing from all corners of social media after she posted an Instagram photo of herself and Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump. The photo showed Spencer with her arm around Trump's shoulder and his around her waist, both of them smiling. Trump was being interviewed on "GMA" Tuesday. Critics say it makes Spencer look "unprofessional" and bias. Comments about the photo prompted Spencer to post a response saying that she was not sitting on Trump's lap, merely greeting him as he came into the show's studio.
4. Kenseth suspended: NASCAR has suspended driver Matt Kenseth for the next two races after he intentionally crashed fellow driver Joey Logano into the wall last Sunday at a race in Martinsville, Va. The crash came three weeks after Logano wrecked Kenseth's car, causing him to be knocked out of a chance at the NASCAR championship.
5. Clinton, Carson tie: In a hypothetical general election contest held today, Democrat Hillary Clinton and Republican Ben Carson would be tied, according to a new NBC/Wall Street Journal poll. The poll, conducted between Oct. 25-29, shows Clinton tied with Carson, a former neurosurgeon, at 47 percent. Clinton would defeat every other GOP candidate, according to poll numbers. She would best Donald Trump 50 percent to 42 percent; Sen. Marco Rubio 47 percent to 44 percent; and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush 47 percent to 43 percent. The poll has a margin of error of 3.1 percentage points.
