Texas Lottery officials are reporting technical issues in some retail locations that are slowing sales of coveted Powerball tickets a couple of hours before the next drawing.
The Powerball lottery has drawn attention in recent days as its estimated jackpot for Wednesday’s drawing is $1.5 billion. Texas Lottery reported more than $7.7 million in Powerball ticket sales from 7 to 8 p.m. — a rate of $2,136 in sales each second.
