From "promposals" to picking out the perfect prom gown, teens have been obsessed with making their big dance the most memorable event of their lives.

A group of high school kids in Arkansas may have them all beat - like Superman taking down Lex Luthor.

The girls and their dates coordinated colors like any normal prom couple. The gowns matched the guys' ties and vests. But it was what was hidden underneath the guys' shirts that showed who they really were.

Each of the guys unveiled their hidden superhero persona, KARK reported.

The reveal photo, which has gone viral, was taken by BN Focus Photography on April 30.

Buzzfeed reports that the photographer, Johnny Bolinger, is a superhero in his own right. Photography is a part-time business. During the day, Bolinger is a police officer, who was asked by his cousin to take the prom prep photos.

So where did the kids get the idea?

The dance was superhero-themed, according to ABC News, but the spark may have also started as far back as football season.

One of the guys had Batman cleats. When one of the other guys saw those, he had to get Superman cleats, ABC News reported.

The guys, who are juniors at an all-boy academy, have one prom problem for their senior year: How will they top this year's dance?
