A man in North Carolina gave his Amazon-loving wife the sweetest parcel she'd ever received: A birthday cake decorated to look like an Amazon package.
Waylon McGuire told CNN he wanted his wife, Emily's 39th birthday cake to commemorate her love for the online retailer. The mother of three gets at least three shipments from Amazon each week.
"As soon as I saw the cake, I was like, 'He gets me,' " she told NBC's Today, referring to her husband. "I felt so understood!"
Emily McGuire, who works as a photographer, posted a picture of the cake to her business Facebook page.
The three-layer chocolate cake was fashioned to look like a brown cardboard box with Amazon Prime packing tape on it. An edible label was addressed to Emily and read "1234 Birthday Lane" in "Happy Birthday, 2U."
The cake was from Inspiring Grounds and Sweet Dreams Bakery in Dunn. Bakery co-owner Brent Norris said the Amazon package cake took eight hours to make. Orders have been coming in for similar cakes, he told Today.
“We’ve been getting lots of calls from people who want the cake,” he said. “The phone keeps ringing."
