A man walked into a convenience store armed with an orange flare gun and demanded cash Saturday morning.
The QuikTrip clerk thought the suspect was joking, according to Tulsa police.
"Because flare guns are orange," police say. "When the individual presented the orange gun he didn't realize it was an apparent robbery."
The suspect then went behind the counter and grabbed cigarettes before leaving the store.
Police say he wasn't done yet.
The suspect fired the flare gun before he fled the scene.
