According to AL.com, a woman told Citronelle police Saturday afternoon that she had escaped a kidnapper. Her report led authorities to the home, where they found the five bodies.

CNN reports that Derrick Dearman, 27, turned himself in to police in Greene County, Mississippi. He had two apparent kidnapping victims, a woman and a baby, with him, police said.

Mobile County Sheriff's Capt. Paul Burch said Dearman faces "five or six counts of capital murder."

Mobile County District Attorney Ashley Rich said the victims were "brutally and viciously murdered" and called the crime scene "horrible." Police said multiple weapons were used.

"Given the way the scene looks, we're going to be here a couple of days," Burch said.

Although police had not released the victims' identities, Robert F. Brown told AL.com that his son, 25-year-old Robert Lee Brown, was among the slain. He identified another victim as Shannon Turner.
