Surveillance video shows moment of Amtrak train derailment

May 13, 2015

A surveillance camera near the Tuesday night derailment of an Amtrak train caught the flashes of the accident.

On grainy, dark video, the flashes of the actual accident can be seen, CNN is reporting.

The New York Times showed where the crash happened.
You can see the destruction of what was left behind after those flashes thanks to passengers posting photos on social media.
One passenger on the train was former Congressman Patrick Murphy.  He was not hurt and was able to help those fellow passengers who were.
The train was headed from Washington, D.C. to New York City at the time of the crash.
