Sometimes troopers go above and beyond for the people, and animals, they serve.
According to a Facebook post by the Connecticut State Police, Trooper Ben Pagoni was called to an incident involving a mother deer that had been killed. Her two babies were left without a mother.
When no rescues were available to take the deer in, he volunteered to help. Trooper Pagoni got permission to take custody of the deer and has been caring for them at his home since.
In a recent update, Connecticut State Police say a rescue finally opened up and will be caring for the deer.
