The man, who only wanted to be identified by "David," said he wanted to help.

"He said, 'If she comes in, call me. I'm gonna pray on this. If the Lord wants me to do something, I may buy her that car,'" Wesley Gurley, the owner of the lot, said.

The dealership offered to sell the car at cost.

Cole received $800 from her father and David put up the remaining money, which was about $2,200.

"I thanked him several times and I cried," Cole said. "To me it means the Lord is out there."
