Diners at a California waterfront restaurant were shocked and soaked when a massive wave smashed through a window during a storm on Saturday.

A video posted on YouTube shows the wave slamming into a window at Moby Dick's on Sterns Wharf in Santa Barbara, shattering it. Diners can be heard screaming as water rushed into the restaurant through the window after the wave hit.

Outside, the waves were strong enough to toss around boats still in the water.

Two employees were trying to secure the patio furniture at another restaurant in Goleta, Calif., when the giant wave crashed into them.

"One of the fellas was taken down the walkway in front of the windows and he went through the door of the patio that had just been washed out by that same wave," said Beachside Bar-Cafe owner David Hard. "Then our manager, Simon, was actually washed out by a wave and then went under the pier and was stuck under the pier."

The manager was able to get back to shore, but reportedly broke his collarbone.

The other employee was not seriously hurt.
