Sheriff's deputies help clean up yard for woman battling cancer

Deputies in Florida have earned their landscaping badges after helping a cancer patient beautify her yard.

Cpl. Dean Peck delivered flowers for a friend of his family who is battling cancer, WTVT reported.

But the flowers were not enough for Peck, so he asked his co-workers at the Collier County Sheriff's Office and friends for help to clean up the woman's backyard, WTVT reported.

Over the weekend, 15 volunteers cleaned and spread mulch at the woman's home to give her a sanctuary to help her feel better since she loves to spend time in her yard, enjoying the sights and sounds of nature.

Their efforts were posted to the Sheriff's Office Facebook page.
