Good thing Santa is used to shimmying down a chimney. His rosy outlook and his comfort with heights came in handy when a float failed during an afternoon parade at Disneyland.

The sleigh that was used for Saturday's "A Christmas Fantasy" parade broke from the float and sent Santa falling, The Orange County Register reported.

He had a safety harness on and dangled on the side of the float, surrounded by Disney-themed toys, until cast members could respond to get him down.

The float then continued through the parade, but sans Santa, as people on social media pointed out.

The same Santa was back in a backup float for the parade the next day while his sleigh is in for repairs, Disneyland officials told the Register.

They did not say what caused the float to break, the Register reported.

Santa Claus waves to Disneyland guests from his sleigh during the seasonal “A Christmas Fantasy” parade, performed daily at Disneyland Park. The joyful procession features a flurry of characters, music, and floats, bringing seasonal magic to the Happiest Place on Earth. Disneyland Resort is located in Anaheim, Calif.
