Lion meat taco
When it comes to the King of the Jungle, some people got the chance to bite back.
The lion meat tacos weren’t cheap at $35.00 each but they were popular.
Taco Fusion was selling the unique item but getting complaints and even threats from animal lovers prompted them to take the tacos off the menu.
The Tampa restaurant put this message on its website:
“Thank you all for the feedback regarding the lion meat promotion at Taco Fusion. Some of you were supportive, some of you were angry. We listened to everyone and decided to no longer carry lion. The lion meat is sold out and we do not plan to carry it again. Thank you all for your feedback.”
The restaurant has offered other exotic meats like ostrich, camel, gazelle, shark and bison but owner Ryan Gougeon said the lion was so popular it sold out quickly.
Even though they won’t put lion back on the menu they did use their website to say “if you guys are mad now, just wait till you see what we do next.”
The lion meat came from approved sources.
