A restaurant in central China is turning heads for rewarding its most beautiful patrons with free food.
According to "The Telegraph," customers of Jeju Island restaurant in Zhengzhou, China, are first taken to a "beauty identification area." Then, a panel of plastic surgeons evaluates visitors and determines whether they're pretty enough to get a free meal.
The 50 most attractive customers each day won't have to pay. The promotion is not just meant to bring attention to the restaurant,  it's also meant to drive customers to its plastic surgeon judges.
Authorities in Zhengzhou aren't happy. They think the stunt makes their city look, well, unattractive. Tuesday, they even forced the restaurant to remove its sign reading, "Free meal for Goodlooking."
Despite the criticism, the restaurant manager, Xue Hexin, says she'll keep giving attractive people free food.
"We will be more prudent with our advertising in future," she said, according to "The Telegraph." "But, the promotion will continue despite the demolition of our sign."
