A Tulsa newspaper is reporting that supervisors at the county sheriff's office were ordered to falsify reserve deputy Robert Bates' training records.

According to the Tulsa World, the false records gave him credit for field training he did not take and firearms certifications he should not have received.

The paper also discovered that three of Bates' supervisors were transferred after refusing to sign his training records.

Bates is accused of second-degree manslaughter in the shooting death of Eric Harris.

Bates said he intended to Taser Harris, but instead fired his gun.
