According to Syracuse.com, scientists with the Lava Project at Syracuse University have teamed up with a chef to create the world's hottest barbecue.

"You are standing before this molten lava flowing out, and it is beautiful," said the chef, Sam Bompas. Bompas had previously attempted to roast marshmallows over an active volcano, so he knows his lava.

Syracuse.com reported that the grill hits about 2,000 degrees, that the furnace is the size of a car and it can take up to 70 hours to melt basalt into lava.
