Relatives of former Miss USA Ali Landry have been found dead in Mexico.

Juan Manuel Gómez Fernández and Juan Manuel Gómez Monteverde are Landry's father-in-law and brother-in-law, respectively. They were kidnapped and held for ransom, according to multiple reports.

The pair were taken outside of their Tampico, Tamaulipas, home in Mexico earlier this month. They were missing for 16 days before their bodies were found less than 10 miles away.

A ransom was paid, but the kidnappers did not keep their word, according to a Televisa report.

The pair were the father and brother to Landry's husband, Alejandro Monteverde, who directed "Little Boy."

Monteverde's brother was a business partner at La Pecerita restaurant, which has been known to have drug cartel ties, according to the Latin Times.

The areas where the crimes happened are strife with drug cartels and crimes.

Officials are examining a car found near the scene of the crime that they suspect was used by the kidnappers, according to New York Daily News.

Landry was named Miss USA in 1996. She starred in a Doritos Super Bowl ad not too long after.
