Ford has issued a recall affecting more than 108,000 midsize cars.
The recall is due to an issue that could make seat belts fail during a crash. The front seat belt cables can lose strength because of heat buildup and may not be able to restrain a passenger, The Associated Press reported.
The company has recalled some 2015 Ford Fusions and Lincoln MKZs.
Owners of the cars affected by the recall should be notified starting Sept. 9, according to the AP.
Dealers will repair the issue by adding a protective coating to the cables, the AP reported.
