The House Intelligence Committee on Thursday morning released a redacted version of the whistleblower complaint filed last month against President Donald Trump.

The document was delivered to Congress on Wednesday, Senate Intelligence Committee Chair Richard Burr told reporters. It was later declassified, according to Rep. Chris Stewart, R-Utah, as well as CNNthe Hill and NBC News.

House Committee on Intelligence Chair Rep. Adam Schiff (D - CA) said in a statement, "This complaint should never have been withheld from Congress. It exposed serious wrongdoing, and was found both urgent and credible by the Inspector General.

"This Complaint is a roadmap for our investigation, and provides significant information for the Committee to follow up on with other witnesses and documents. And it is corroborated by the call record released yesterday."

Donald Trump's administration deployed the military to Washington, D.C., in the name of fighting crime, and in an Aug. 11 news conference he mentioned the possibility of military being sent to other large American cities, all of which are led by Black, Democratic mayors. And while Atlanta wasn't included in Trump's list, the city fits that profile under Mayor Andre Dickens. (Photo Illustration: Philip Robibero / AJC | Source: Getty)
