Priest arrested for allegedly pointing gun at child because he's a Cowboys fan

A New Jersey priest is accused of pointing a gun at an 8-year-old boy because he was a Dallas Cowboys fan, according to prosecutors.

Kevin Carter, a priest at St. Margaret of Cortona Roman Catholic church in New Jersey, is accused of pointing a Civil War style musket at him, according to authorities. The priest asked to see the boy in private and then allegedly told the boy he was going to shoot him.

The 52-year-old priest was arrested Friday on charges of endangering the welfare of a child and aggravated assault, according to The Dallas Morning News.

The incident occurred before Mass services at the church on Sunday, September 13. Later that afternoon, the Cowboys beat the Giants, 27-26.
