A Porsche stolen 27 years ago was found overturned against a tree lying on a steep hill by a man walking his dog earlier this week.

The 1979 Porsche 924, which was stolen from a movie theater parking lot in 1991, was found Tuesday afternoon by a man following his dog in the woods, according to the Jackson County Sheriff's Office.

Investigators found no human remains near the wreckage when they checked it out Wednesday. Bones found nearby were determined to have come from a deer.

"Heavy forest debris indicated the vehicle had been there for a significant period of time," officials said in a release.

The treacherous terrain presents logistical and environmental concerns for safe removal, investigators said.
